Our Teaching Philosophy

At Kasturi Secondary School, we believe that how we teach is as important as what we teach. Our teachers use child-centred approaches that honour each child's natural way of learning.

Child-Centred Learning

Every lesson begins with the child's existing knowledge and curiosity. Students are encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and discover answers.

Activity-Based & Experiential Learning

Science experiments, field trips, model making, storytelling, and role plays are integral parts of teaching.

Collaborative & Project-Based Learning

Group projects, debates, peer teaching, and team challenges build communication and leadership skills.

Technology-Integrated Teaching

Smart boards, educational apps, video lessons, and the computer lab enrich learning experiences.

Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL)

Mindfulness, circle time, and emotional check-ins help children build empathy and healthy relationships.

Differentiated Instruction

Teachers identify each student's learning style and pace, offering enrichment or extra support as needed.

Teacher Training & Development

All Kasturi Secondary School teachers participate in annual professional development programmes through NCED and other subject-specific workshops to stay current with best practices.
